REMINDER! Hello Lovely friends.... When was the last time you had your skin checked? 🔎 I get mine checked quite frequently (I'm part dalmatian apparently 😂). Having had some nasty moles and spots in the past means I habe to keep on top of it. BUT just because you don't have my skin, doesn't mean you shouldn't get yours checked. 🧑🏼‍🦳👧🏿🧔‍♂️👱🏼‍♀️👨🏻‍🦱🧒🏽👩🏻‍🦰 Melanoma's and other Skin Cancers can grow on any skin. Sometimes they are there for years and slowly turn nasty, other times the pop up quickly. Know your skin. Know your spots and get a skin check. Last week i had two moles cut out. Results: 1 mole all good and 1 mole on its way to becoming a very nasty cancer.... thank goodness it's gone. Do you have have photos for your business? Recently I had a Branding Photoshoot 📸 done with my lovely friend, the talented @janellekeys_brandphotography . This is definitely something that I would recommended for every business with an online presence 🖥💻📱. We spent a whole day together creating content that I will use throughout the next year (yes, we even took summer⛱ photos in the middle of winter🥶 ... brrrr!). I can't wait to start using them in my social media and adding them to my website. Soooo many photos to choose from! Running a full-time business and managing kids during the school holidays can be a little challenging. Of course, I want them to have a great holiday, but I also have work commitments and deadlines. This break, I made a deal with my teen 'skater chick' and little scooter minion..... love a good deal ;)⁠ ⁠ If they are up early, with clean bedrooms, I will answer all my morning emails and make my daily WIP lists from the comfort of the concrete bench at the local Skate Park. They get out, get to have fun and practice their tricks. I change up my morning routine for an hour and in return, they are happy to give me uninterrupted work time during the afternoon. Of course, I stop and get a steaming hot coffee on the way... and believe it or not, I've actually been quite productive at the Skate Park...... go figure?!⁠ ⁠ P.S.... yes, Roller Skating is BACK BABY!! A little over a month ago, I hit LAUNCH on my Brand New Website. A shiny new site! It had taken me a long time to design my site in a way that reflected the heart behind my business and in a way that truly felt like me.⁠ ⁠ Now the next step is to keep growing and keep showing up. Those of you in the 'social media' game know that it is so easy to fall off the bandwagon. That having a constant online presence takes a different type of mindset - which may be easier for extroverts - but we introverts kind of love to hide... ⁠ So, last year, I had a Tiger Snake in my yard on a hot summer day.... and it would NOT go away! On the phone to the council and they sent out the very brave Tash to save the day (and rehome a very frightened snake - from the yard of some very frightened peeps).⁠ ⁠ Of course, both being business owners we got talking shop... which led me to this truly exciting project. A truly skilled professional, Tash wanted her difference to be her femininity (there aren't too many females in the Snake Removal Industry). She was also wanting a brand that would step into the educational realm for young children, further down the track (her business name already does this.... 🧙).⁠ ⁠ Also, isn't this the prettiest snake t-shirt around? 💗🐍 ⁠ Tash's previous logo had been a photograph of a snake, so we really stepped it up with this beautiful tattoo style hand-drawn illustration..... now... this was not an easy task for a non-snake lover. I grew up in Borneo, right on the equator. My childhood was wonderful, surrounded by the living, breathing jungle and its occupants. It was not unusual to find gibbons and orang-utans playing in my back yard. Life was full of excitement, and there was so much to learn and discover.⁠ ⁠ My childhood has definitely shaped the way I approach design. I have no doubt that my love of colour comes from my days in the jungle, where I enjoyed the vibrancy of the tropical blooms around me. I also learnt to investigate and experience my environment, partly for safety but also partly because what was happening in the jungle had a big effect on our lives.⁠ ⁠ Now I run Happy Splat Design from a home based studio in Melbourne, Australia. I like to learn about my client’s whole business, not just their design need because, like the jungle, what is happening in their environment also has a big effect on their business. Many people think that I only work with feminine brands (which I 💖), but that is just not the case. I love to work with COLOUR ... in a clean and clear way (give me all the colours.... but only a couple at a time #minimalpalettes). Working with @mishfit is always a joy 😊. Mish is forever finding new ways to empower women in their health and lives. ... she is the kind of special lady that you just want to love on 💕 (and she is hilariously funny!🤣). ⁠ ⁠ Knowing that the target market for this brand is women over the age of 40ish, I wanted it to be mature, timeless and classically feminine ... with a specific focus on the feminine areas that Mish works with people to train.⁠ ⁠ Well, Mish loved it... On Friday night, I let all my cats out of the bag 🐈🐈🐈 and I launched my new website 🖥️💖. I'm not going lie, I was so nervous. I've been working on this baby in the background for a couple of years - due to family care, health and 2020 it took way longer than it should have. ⁠ ⁠ When you work on something so long, it becomes a part of you - I almost wanted to keep it private (but hey, that would really defeat the purpose... doh!🤦‍♀️). ⁠ ⁠ I'm so honoured to get to work with some amazing businesses and I'm going to enjoy releasing all the awesomeness that I've been working on the last couple of years.
